Hi Derek,
         i also use the scanman plus and really like it.I don't use any ocr
software but I just recieved an excellent program from logitec called
ansel.Which is a 256 grayscale image editor program(registered owners of
scanman plus can get it for $29 us)you can adjust the light and darkness of an
image and how sharp or smooth it is,you can also edit out flaws in the image
quality.Anyway I'll have to go now,let me know how you get on with the ocr
software as that sounds interesting.
