I would also >be very interested if anyone knows of causes/solutions to this problem. According to Toshiba, the heat is normal and all Toshibas AFTER the 1000 have safety circuits to limit the heat. The problem is caused by recharging a battery that still has a substantial charge in it. I only recharge when my battery is really low so I have never noticed this problem.
