Keywords: is there an application that will do this? Message-ID: <2666@sparko.gwu.edu> Date: 2 Feb 91 01:57:37 GMT Reply-To: sm196103@seas.gwu.edu (Scott Cherkofsky) Followup-To: comp.sys.mac.apps Distribution: na Organization: The George Washington University, Washington D.C. Lines: 32 I have been downloading and trying to convert some sounds from an IBM format (.snd) to a soundedit format. The first problem is that downloading in Binary form leaves a file with no header, therefore I cannot get ANY program (soundedit, Canopener) to recognize the file. The only program that I have found to do this is Sound --> snd convert but I have an early version and it is very buggy on my SE/30 running 6.0.7 The program will recognize the files only sometimes, then it MIGHT convert the sound or it might not, then it will nolonger recognise any more files. I have to quit out and go back in to get it to work again. By no means is this desireable so I thought I would ask y'all for some info. I am looking for a way to convert (either by application or by resedit) the .snd IBM Binary files to soundedit files/resources. Thanx for any help. Scott. P.S. some of these sounds are Dr. Who sounds, so those of you who have asked, I will send them out as soon as I have converted them - if that ever happens. -- Scott Cherkofsky "The experience of going through sm196103@seas.GWU.edu life may be intended as a warning Mechanical Engineering student not to do it again."
