I do have 2 minor problems which I've been able to get around but if anyone has a solution, I'd like to know! 1) I would get postscript errors in PageMaker 4.0, usually when the printer is downloading fonts. It's always a offending postscript command error. The printer would get stuck on-line and I'd have to turn the printer off then on to reset it. It resets within 5 seconds so it's not a big deal and almost always it would print the document when I resend it. 2) I can't get a spooler to work on it. I tried SuperLaserSpool 2.0 and TOPSpool 3.0 and both generates errors. I have a 4MB Mac Plus (I know... but I needed a postscript printer more) so I'm running MultiFinder 6.1b9 with System 6.0.5 and using it's background printing and Print Monitor. It works fine but I have to run MultiFinder and I think I'm pushing things on a Plus. I've spoken to QMS tech support and the only thing the guy could come up with is to buy LocalTalk cables. Up to that point I was using my old ImageWriter cable. He mentioned something about termination on the AppleTalk lines so I went off and got two $30 PhoneNet connectors. Guess what? Same problems. Oh well... I'm going to connect another Mac to the printer so I would have to buy the cables eventually. So here's the point... if anyone recognized any of these problems and has a solution, please let me know at tchi@usc.edu on Internet. Thanks for reading such a verbose message. Tony Chi tchi@usc.edu P.S. Last time I called Aldus tech support about a PageMaker postscript problem, the tech guy at Aldus put me on hold for 10 minutes and came back asking me if the printer was plugged in. I hope the guy was a rookie...
