We are using the Proserve software. (This is basicly the Cheyenne software) It was PC Magazines editors choose. The software is not bad. We have a Netware 386 server with the NLM software. It works. We can do unattended backups of any server on the net. We can also do attended backups of the server. It also will be a tape backup server as well. You can do an attended backup or an unattended backup (unless you are using Novell Shell 3.01) of a workstation. If you do an unattended backup of a workstation you do not have to be logged into the server, all you have to have loaded is the Novell shell and their local TSR. The only non-functional part of the software that I have found so far is that if you try and do an unattended backup of a workstation and are running a version of the shell greater than 2.15 it will not work. However, you still can do an attend backup. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Neuburger Voice: 503/346-4394 Workgroup Network Engineer Internet: mjn@oregon.uoregon.edu Office of University Computing Bitnet: mjn@oregon University of Oregon 1225 Kincaid FAX: 503/346-3127 Eugene, OR 97403
