I have heard it said that the later monochrome SUN-2 monitors can be
converted from TTL input to ECL input by setting some jumpers inside.

1) Is this true?  If so, how can I know if my monitor has the feature and
   what are suitable settings?
2) If it is not true, what *is* necessary in order to get a SUN-2 monitor
   to work with a SUN-3?

Any hints, pointers, or other helps would be greatly appreciated.
