There was nothing wrong with the SIMM chips or the installation procedure. Rather, I had misunderstood the manual (and the words of many of the people who had kindly written to me) regarding the changes needed in the "setup" program. I had increased the memory setting of the expansion ram to 2048K instead of the main memory. That's why I kept getting the "extended memory not found" message at bootup. Now that I have a nice 1024K disk cache and a ramdrive, Windows has become a pleasure to use. My only dissappointment is that the version of Excel I have won't run in Windows 3.0 Standard mode. Tske, tske... BTW, I found out that I have a Conner 20Mb drive. Does anyone remember what the drive setting for that was? --Payman -- ______________________________________________ Payman Parastaran / payman@uiuc.edu..............(217) 398-1452 / _______________________/_____________________________________________/__________
