There was an argument going on recently whether the RS/6000 had CAT
troff or ditroff, but I never heard the definitive answer.  The
silly thing is that I've got a RS/6000 system sitting right beside
me, but I can't boot it and find out because IBM's not been able
to ship me a console cable for over 6 weeks!

Never mind..

The troff on your machine already supports HP laserjets.

Regarding postscript, look at the troff that is on your machine.  Try
typing something like:
	echo hello | troff
If the stuff that comes out looks ANYTHING like (as in it's ascii
with cryptic lines):
    x T djet
    x res 432 1 1
    x init
    p1
    x font 1 R
    f1
    s12
    H910
    V106
    ch
It's ditroff, and you can use tpscript from comp.sources.unix to
generate postscript.  If it says "typesetter busy" instead, you
can use psroff.  Send me mail if you need info on psroff.

Incidentally, psroff PL 8 will support ditroff input too.
