With an HP Vectra QS/20 with 4 MB memory, a 386 chip, and DOS 4.01, when I run Windows 3.0 in 386-enhanced mode I get an error message of unsupported DOS version and Windows doesn't run. Windows does run in standard and real modes, however. I have spoken with people who claim there exists a documented workaround for the problem, but no one seems to know what it is. I suspect it may be related to the arguments to HIMEM.SYS in the CONFIG.SYS file. If anyone has gotten it running successfully with such a configuration, I would appreciate suggestions. Thanks.
