NY, NY Lines: 17 I have run GIF2BMP on some nice (256 color) GIF files. I then told 3.0 WINDOWS to use them as wallpaper and it came up in grey scale! Likewise, in PAINTBRUSH my 9 yr old son has saved some images he created into .bmp files only to reload them and see the colors gone. We have since discovered PCX, to his satisfaction. I guess I'm just uninformed on what BMP is, does and why its B/W and not color. Is there any way to have color in BMP files? I was hoping my wallpaper would have been in nice colors, even if it MUST be 16 colors instead of 256 colors. Can someone enlighten me or if its a case of RTFM, which one? Many thanks! joec@morgan.com
