I can really tell the difference when I'm using my speech recognition
system.  It is a real labor intensive program and when I run it on a slower
machine I can really tell that the system is grinding away.  It requires
a 386 machine because some of the code was written in 386 assembly language.
Even with them using assembly language for faster execution I can tell the 
difference when I go from one machine to a slower or faster system.
