I wasn't meaning to imply that other companies hadn't or wouldn't do the same. Interestingly enough, Eric called me the other day and showed me how the his synthesizer sounded. Even over the phone I was able to hear it quite clearly. Obviously this doesn't answer all questions, but at least now when I hear other people put it down or otherwise refer to it I'll be able to refer to my own experience.
