I am working on a project that could use some help.  My friends are having
their first baby soon, and I am making a gift for the baby.  I am collecting
stories about birds (both parents are bird-watchers) for a book and a
quilt.  I am looking for a bird for each letter of the alphabet, and a
folktale, poem, or story about each bird.

If you have heard such a story and wouldn't mind telling it, or referring
