While some of the prophecies in Daniel are open to a lot of question, the prophecies of Daniel 7 and 8 are interpreted within Daniel to signify the four world empires which *did* rule the whole world, namely Babylonia, Persia, Greece, and Rome in that order. Thus these prophecies have already been fulfilled. Implicit in these prophecies also is the idea that there will be no other world governments that succeed between now and when Christ sets up His kingdom. None of those four were world governments either. Makes me suspect that we need a less literal interpretation of the prophecy. -mib
