One thing I noticed was that the arguments in favour of relational were based on the capability of the engine the person was used to , the more basic it was the easier for the other camp to shoot it down with 'Rms could do that..' etc . I offered that with Interbase I was placing more of the application logic into the database itself which resulted in simpler,more reliable and maintainable applications irrespective of the language interface . I would go further but it would sound too much like an advert .
