I had quite serious problem some time ago with my clock. Everything worked fine when I booted my machine but after one minute and 21 seconds my clock reseted itself to its preset (which had been made by setclock opt load-command). After some investigation I found that the problem was with my I/O-chip (8520). It had been damaged earlier when I had connected modems etc. to my amiga with power on!! Broken I/O-chip also had funny effect on my printer. When I shut off my amiga printer started feeding paper line by line. I bought new 8520-chip and after that clock has worked just fine.
