I am running a DN10010 under 10.1p.  Recently, the null process has
started stealing most of the cycles, so even when unloaded, a
3 minute cpu job with no io takes 12 minutes wallclock.  I need
help, as now I can't get any work done.  What causes this?  How
do I stop it?  How do I prevent it in the future?
