The 98785A works with a variety of 1024x768 color video interfaces, representing implementations of between 4 and 8 planes. The 98549A is a 1024x768x8 (yes, eight) color video interface. It works with a variety of 1024x768 color monitors, in 16- or 19-inch sizes.
