This may be a simple question, and if it is please excuse my idiocity:

How do you turn up the volume for the speaker on the PC.  Is there a command to
be given, or is there a hardware control that can be adjusted.  I am 
specifically interested in turning up the volume on an IBM 55SX machine, 
but also would like to know, in general how to turn up the volume on PC's 
and PC clones.
