I also have had a bit of trouble w/ a Phoenix BIOS (indirectly...) The joystick routine in the BIOS (386 version 1.10.13) does not work on my machine -- yes, the machine has a non-standard bus speed (10MHz) but was able to get a 'C' joystick suite running w/o to much trouble. Just downloaded it from wuarchive. Has anyone else had trouble w/ Phoenix BIOS's? Is there a list of known bugs? How about a disassembled listing?
