Keywords: Samsung,laptop,S5200 Message-ID: Date: 9 Feb 91 06:48:53 GMT Sender: news@hoss.unl.edu (Network News Administer) Reply-To: nolan@helios.unl.edu Organization: University of Nebraska - Lincoln Lines: 22 Are there any other Samsung S5200 owners out there who have had problems with modems, I/O ports, or screens? I've had all three. My S5200 has already been in to repair a screen that periodically either goes blank or displays garbage when I turn it on. (The repair order mentioned cold solder joints.) The problem is still occurring. Also, some programs I have don't work with an internal modem or with a modem connected to COM1. (Other programs and systems use both the modem card and the external modem just fine.) There was a rumor in this newsgroup several months ago about the Award BIOS having some kind of problem. Has anybody ever heard anything more about this? BTW, I bought my system in Orange County, Cal, last June, but I've noticed that it has a CANADIAN radio interference sticker rather than a US one. What gives? Michael Nolan nolan@helios.unl.edu
