Lines: 44 I asked how to compare word processor files and print out the differences between them. Well, six responses all chorussing the same answer. Here is the most detailed. From: Joel B Levin I have a product called DocuComp (version 1.5, 5/31/90). I got an earlier version through an offer from Microsoft that came shortly after I upgraded to Word 4.0. (I have no idea whether such an offer was ever made outside the USA.) I paid around US$10 or $15; its "official" retail price I think is $149. I don't know what it would cost from a mail order house. It reads two files and presents a double window in which the two files may be scrolled in parallel. It can print a marked up version of the document (showing all additions, deletions, and moved text) and it can print out a list or a summary of the changes. It claims that "the most popular word processor formats are supported." But if yours is not, you can still do TEXT files. I know for a fact that it handles Word, MacWrite, and MORE files; but my manual is at home so I can't look for a list. DocuComp is published by Advanced Software, Inc., 1095 E.
