I want it to be applications (so >McSink is out) and I want it to be freeware/shareware (so Qued/M is >out). If I'm wrong, somebody correct me. Although it is not advertised, I think that one can still buy QUED from the same people who sell QUED/M. QUED is disk based but doesn't include the macro capability which is included in the ram based QUED/M. I think QUED sells for $50 or so. Chang's request reminds me what a hassle it is editing large files. I think QUED/M is the best text editor around but when is comes to editing really large files I have to either run from the Finder or increase the QUED/M memory allocation to something larger than normal. Either way is a bother. It would be nice to have an option in QUED/M that let you choose ram or disk-based just before you open. Is this possible? Meanwhile, I noticed a new shareware utility that lets you set the memory allocation as you launch a program. That might save one the bother of digging through the folders looking for the application so you can "get info" and change the allocation. Matt
