If the original poster is experiencing the bug we've seen here, then what he meant was that if he opened the footer, deleted *everything* (including the paragraph mark) and closed the footer, then the footer didn't change. Our experience is that you can delete everything *but* the paragraph mark, put a single space before the paragraph mark and the footer contents will go away. I know this seems bizarre, but that's how we get around it. If anyone knows a better (or the correct) way to do it, I'd be interested. --jon ~
