I have heard this over and over again -- it is a good question. So far, I don't think that there has been a decent response from Apple. Naively, it would seem that whatever is lacking could be taken care off by an init. Isn't this what 32-Bit QuickDraw does for the Mac II and the IIx? On a 20-meg IIcx it seems like very few people would opt to PAY for a 32-bit clean ROM if an init could patch the nasty bits ... What's the big deal? Bill (johnston@oscar.ccm.udel.edu)
