I am tring to generate BDF files from MF files and the font comes out
with extra spacing.

I hack on the BDF to find out what it was, but went I finally got rid
of the extra spacing between characters and I wasn`t sure of why.

My procedure to convert them uses the SeeTeX's mfToBDF.  I do know a
sparc itn't a 100 dpi, but that was what I wanted.

Here is the procedure:

cmmf '\smode="sparc1"; mag=1.00000;' input wncysc10
mftobdf -dvi 100 -dev sparc1 wncysc10.100pk
bdftosnf wncysc10.100.bdf >wncysc10.100.snf
mkfontdir
xset +fp `pwd`
xterm -fn wncysc10.100
