If you use the %t and %d escapes in your gettytab banner, getty will
expand them but telnetd won't.  Use telnet to connect and you see:

    DECsystem 5400 (yourhost %t)
    Ultrix V4.1 (Rev. 52)
    %d
    login:

This has been broken since at least Ultrix 3.0.
