I loaded them from cica in the upload directory (tvga2b.zip). Now, I copied the drivers and the .gr3 and .386 files to the windows directory (what do these files do anyway ?). starting windows complains that the vddtgva.386 file is corrupt, it seems it was trying to execute it ? OK, so now I use the older vddtvga file I had. By the way, I included the file oemsetup.inf into the setup.inf in the system directory (phew!) That raised another question, which entities in oemsetup.inf does one really need to include ? Just the [display], what about the [VGA.GR3] ?? etc. Well.... next I started windows ... success !! so I selected change setup from inside windows - fine I see all the drivers. Now (I can't wait) I select 1024x768 with large font ( I have 1M on the card ) and restart windows ..... oops as I select OK the setup program starts to ask me for all sorts of windows disks (disk 4 for example) to load fonts. I dutifully comply and get to restarting windows. It then throws me into DOS (gasp!). Type WIN, get the startup screen, then a 'flash' then DOS again. windows is now dead. Hmmmmmmm try running command line setup inside the windows directory and select a lower resolution driver, ok, everything works but after selecting 'Accept configuration' and 'Update config.sys' (why by the way ?) the system hangs - its Ctrl-Alt-Del time. Now where did I put the backup tape ....... Those are my naiive attempts to install the new trident drivers at this time. Any advice would be MOST welcome.
