Message-ID: <632Gim$g@cs.psu.edu> Date: 7 Feb 91 07:10:29 GMT Sender: news@cs.psu.edu (Usenet) Organization: Penn State Campus Crusade for Cable Lines: 18 Nntp-Posting-Host: belegost.endor.cs.psu.edu Any attempt to access the modem in 386 Enhanced yields the warning "COM4 is in use by a DOS application", however in standard or real modes, COM4 is accessed without problem. It did the same for a test of the modem on COM3. I noticed that COM4 is not listed in the 386 Enhanced Control Panel's Device Contention entry. Is there any way to sneak it in there? I R'd TFM.. no help, Will re-installing windows (ugh!) solve the problem? Thanks for any help you can give, Mike BTW, the system is a Compuadd 320 w/ 4 megs RAM, but I SERIOUSLY doubt this is system dependent. -- Mike Tierney "The sport is War, total war, when the end's tierney@endor.cs.psu.edu a massacre, the final swing is not a drill, MBT3@PSUVM.PSU.EDU it's how many people I can kill." mbt@ECLU.psu.edu -Tom Arayas & Jeff Hanneman
