Go talk to Creative Labs (408)986-1461, maker of Sound Blaster. They supposed to have a multi-media extesion to Window 3.0 coming out soon (if not already), which might have what you need. The hardware on the Sound Blaster (up to 12kHz 8-bit sampling) should certainly do the job.
