Several people have noted in several different applications that
fonts that have been converted to OpenWindows do not take up the
same amount of space on the screen as they did under other X11R4
servers. Now it is hard to believe that a bitmapped font is going
to take up any more space so what about both the character and
line spaceing?

This only seems to be a problem with proportional fonts.
