In a shell script (csh) I will be calculating geometry for an xterm session
and would like to make the calculations based on the font size.  Is there
in common use any sort of program that converts a font name (only the fixed
fonts xterm can use need apply) into the box dimension?

My current approach will be to hard code a table into the shell script.
I just want to find a more standard way to do this if there is one.
No big deal if not.
