When I use xsetroot (or xphoon which is really cool BTW) to change my root window on my DECstation 3100 the new image doesn't appear until after an expose event. I.e. when I iconify a window, the new image appears underneath, but the old image remains in the rest of the exposed root window. Is there a simple way to send an expose event to the whole root window or something? If someone could email me a clue I'd appreciate it. I'm going out of town for a while and I would probably miss a reply posted in the news. Thanks.
