How about the rather obscure but excellent Irish band In Tua Nua, or the
band Crash Vegas.  Another fine female artist is Sara Hickman - kinda
southern u.s folkish.

Someone mentioned the Primitives, they are good, but are slightly commercial.

Oh I almost forgot to mention Brenda Dunn - also Folkish, quite good.

anyone know of any good record stores in ottawa where i might find the box set??
