Need some! Message-ID: <4131@gdc.portal.com> Date: 11 Feb 91 13:07:08 GMT Organization: General DataComm, Middlebury CT Lines: 22 Hi, What am I doing wrong in setting up an anonymous ftp site? o I add a user ftp in /etc/passwd with home directory of /usr/ftp No login password, or shell. o In /usr/ftp I create directories ftp, ftp/bin, ftp/etc, ftp/pub. I set the owners and permissions as specified in the manuals o I copy ls to /usr/ftp/ftp/bin and passwd, group to /usr/ftp/ftp/etc. When I try to do a anonymous ftp to it, I can't do a ls or cd. It gives me a directory of "" instead of \. What am I doing wrong? I CAN put files and they end up in /usr/ftp but I can't do a ls on them from ftp. Any suggestions?
