It seems to me that when you are getting two copies on the screen then both your modem and the computer you are calling are echoing the characters. When you get three copies then the terminal is also echoing back a copy. You can control both your modem and your terminal :-) If the command ATF1 has undesireable effects, then just undo it with a ATF0 Note that you must be in command mode to do this. Andy
