I don't know about PV-wave, but IDL is an excellent platform under which to do your number crunching and image processing. It's flexible, fast, and NASA uses it for a good deal (if not most) of its imaging. Remember those first few Hubble Space Telescope images? They were all loaded into, processed, and displayed with IDL. It's also very easy to use. (I'm not associated with the publishers or programmers of IDL - just a fan) -- ========= Jose Suarez Internet: suarez@as.arizona.edu ========= ========= Steward Observatory SPAN: IUE::SUAREZ ========= ========= University of Arizona Ma Bell: (602) 621-4934 ========= ========= Tucson, AZ 85721 In Person: Rm 210 (bring coffee) =========
