I am seeking a book for a friend learning pascal. This book should not deal with syntax, she is more interested in non-trivial programs using interesting algorithms and data structures. There should be tasks with detailed explained solutions. Perhaps a book with only a few, but big programs would be fine. She does *not* want a book about some tricks with Turbo Pascal on PCs, solving real world problems with ANSI Pascal is better. I heard about books dealing with only one project, for example a editor or a spreadsheet, which is first specified. Then, chapter by chapter, it is explained how to structure and to solve the problem. Alternative solutions should be discussed as well. The book ends with a program which solves the problem. Knowing about such books would be nice, too. Namaskaar Michael Haardt (u31b3hs%cip-s01.informatik.rwth-aachen.de@unido.bitnet)
