It was never clear in 1984, for example, whether Big Brother was the elected leader or one selected by powerful interests in society -- nor did it matter. The result was the same. Lack of accountability is something to be avoided, not least by those in positions of power. I'm sorry in the immediate matter that Pat exploded as he did. He revealed something about himself that really wasn't very secret -- his political leanings -- at some cost to his personal image. I've voted with my keyboard.
