If a process hangs, I typically force a logout with CTRL-ALT-F9. I then log back in and start up "update". I then "cd" to a directory on my hard disk partition (/dev/hd7) and type "pwd". It says "..:No such file or directory". It seems that stat is broken somehow. This won't go away until the machine is rebooted. Am I doing something wrong or does anyone know what is happening here?
