It makes a point of compatibility on clone-machines & peripherals. Since most IBM users tend to have clones, I assume many of you MINIXers out there have some experiences on clone-systems, and thus wonder if anyone can offer some suggestions: 1- will Minix be able to handle a Western Digital RLL controller for a 60Meg Hard Drive [Miniscribe, now owned by Maxtar]. 2- My friend had some trouble with the floppy-drive controller he used. Apparently it was one that could handle up through 3.5" drives. Minix was able to boot [using the "Universal Disk"], and read ok, but -not- format disks. error writing instantly. 3- I started reading this newsgroup recently & I think this was akedd asked before, but: is there a program [& where if so] that can set the hard drive to ask which partition, DOS or MINIX, to boot into ?? Thanks ! -MG
