If anyone wants to really embed (ie, integrate with an executable installer), Pkware also offers a library form of the zip tools now. I was unaware of this until about a week ago. This apparently allows your tools to access and modify zip files without having to exec or spawn to external executables. No connection with Pkware except as a satisfied user.
