Hi,

there is already a de facto standard for "certified mail".

Include a header field Return-Receipt-To: <address>
(the exact syntax identical to Reply-To:)

You will get a delivery report from the mailer doing final delivery,
if it supports receipts.

If the user "reads" it with an interface that supports it, you will
get a "read receipt".
