These are powered speakers designed to be used with a Walkman, but they come with a power supply (one supply for both {stereo} spkrs) and have a "Dynamic Bass Boost" circuit to overcome the physical limitations of the speaker. They also have a volume control and a power-on led. The sound is about the best of any of the small speakers available, and they are reasonable to tote along.
