I hate to say this but the best place to look for what kind of printer driver to
use is in the manual that comes with the printer.  I have a star NX1000 Rainbow
and I had to use an Epson printer driver for a long time and it worked fine.
I finally found a printer driver for my printer posted on a local BBS and now
use that.  I would suggest reading the manual on the printer.
