Huntsville, AL Lines: 38 To convert a 320 mode (Allison currently only does 320 mode - future versions will do 640 mode) picture to 640 mode, you can obtain (purchase) any of the following programs: SuperConvert (Best color translations when using raw images) The Graphic Exchange (Ok, but not great color translations) Second Chance (Great monochrome translations) or... If you have a paint program such as Platinum Paint, you can do direct to system palette translation (can lose detail when remapping colors). Additionally, you can save the Allison picture as an Apple Preferred file and have AWGS attempt the translation for you (can be good, can be bad). If you have Paintworks Gold, you can perform the following steps: 1. Load graphic. 2. Select marquee tool. 3. Press spacebar. 4. Select entire screen or portion you wish to translate. 5. Press spacebar. 6. Select cut from the Edit menu. 7. Select change to 640 from the Apple menu. 8. Select paste adj. colors from the Edit menu. 9. Save the graphic as an Apple Preferred file. NOTE: This method produces identical results to the Platinum Paint method. If you wish to use pictures converted with this method in AWGS, you will need to first load the PWG palette picture in AWGS's graphics module. The picture should import just fine in other AWGS modules. Hope this helps! -- *Scott Gentry |UUCP:uunet!ingr!gentrys | * *Intergraph Corporation |America Online: AFL Scott |I speak for myself * *2051 Mercador Drive |GEnie: W.GENTRY | * *Reston, VA 22091 |CIS:72000,1536 (rarely) | *
