I think by UNIX V.4 you mean SVR4 which is the STANDARD UNIX according to AT&T and Unix International (the OSF disagrees). This is something of a unified UNIX definition (Xenix, BSD, UNIX V, etc) and includes support for networking, real time and X window system. I'd like to hear about a binary standard for 68K based SVR4 (there's already one for Intel I think). This would allow running software on the TT that was not specifically developed for it (ie. it was developed for any 68K machine running SVR4). Any news on 68K SVR4 ABI (Application Binary Interface)? Am I just dreaming here? -- +=========================================================================+ | Barry_Friedman(); /* "Why stop now, just when I'm hating it?" | | - Marvin the Paranoid Android */ | +------------------------------+------------------------------------------+ | Barry Friedman | friedman@m4.metaphor.com | | Software Engineer | barry@speaker.metaphor.com | | Metaphor Computer Systems | ...!{decwrl|apple}!metaphor!speaker!barry| | Mountain View, CA | ...!{decwrl|apple}!metaphor!friedman |
