Moore) Organization: Dept. of Space Physics, Rice University, Houston TX Lines: 28 I was just reading some info on the TT package and I have to wonder: Why are they shipping UNIX V.4? This is at least two generations behind the last version I know of, which is at least a year old to boot. Is this going to be like the TOS story, with three or four different versions floating around, and patches following them like abandoned puppies? Someone at ATARI want to pick up this thread? It took me forever to learn the current one, and I sure am not in the mood to backpedal. Of course, this is all moot until they keep the TT from broadcasting like WKRP... :-) And while I'm at it (deja vu!), I just want to mention that the latest edition of ATARI INTERFACE has a small comparison between bottom-line Casio and Yamaha MIDI keyboards. The crux was: Casio: 44-key full-sized keyboard. 4 polyphonic groups of the 16 available channels (6,4,2,4 if memory serves), 30 sampled sounds (2 of which are blah sound effects). $250. Yamaha: 61-key undersized (eugh) keyboard, channels independent (I think), 100 sounds (not sampled, I think). $350. This is from memory, so no flames. If I get one of these (fairly likely), I'll keep you (snicker) posted. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brian D.
