He thinks it can be fixed if he new what parts went where. So he is for the schematics of an AT&T modem Model 4000, type 1A02 which runs at 1200 baud and is Hayes compatible. AT&T no longer makes or sells this item soa direct approach didn't work. Maybe some one has one of these and is willing to look inside and get the parts description for the scorched items. These are: 1. looks like 3 resistor/capacitor/diode right behind the red power plug are gone. 2. behind these is a square IC (?) IDMB10 - 40 3. the MC1488 trasmitter or receiver is clearly gone with a hole in it Item 1. is the big problem since those guys are charred and markings cannot be read. Thanks in advance.
