You also need an adaptor card (or 8087 NDP card) to go between the motherboard and memory card. A very good program for using the Rainbow as a terminal is TCIIV321. This program is the only public program I have found to do VT1XX & VT2XX modes. Most programs do VT102 and not VT220 (also to a large extent VT240 & VT241 with graphics card and regis). - --- msged 2.06 * Origin: Bob's_point of Cuckoo's Nest : Hudson, NH (1:132/119.4) ------------------------------ Date: 9 Feb 91 09:17 -0500 From: MARC NEWMAN To: BOB SMITH Subject: RE: RAINBOW MEMORY HELP >I have seen messages telling you, you need the memory card with the switches >and sockets. Bob, I have a non-Rainbow 8088 machine (SWP COPOWER) which I have wanted to put a math coprocessor on, but I do not have a empty slot for it. Is this NDP card by any chance something that I could use on a system other than a Rainbow, even if it took some mods? What version of Code Blue was that? BH> Could you post the switches you used again; I seem to have lost the BH> original message. I'm using DOS 3.10b and the latest Code Blue; 2.01, I believe. In my AUTOEXEC.BAT, I have SET WP=/f2 The WordPerfect program is on my F: drive in directory \WP51 (with various subdirectories for printer, graphics, macros, etc.) I renamed WP.EXE to WP51.EXE. On my E: drive, I have a directory BAT which contains the following for WordPerfect, in a file WP.BAT: cb f:\wp51\wp51/ss=24,80 %1 My PATH statement includes the CB, BAT, and WP51 directories. The above lets me go to any application directory or subdirectory and invoke WordPerfect with the command WP JONES.LTR or whatever. Let me know if you have any problems getting it set up. - --- msged 1.99L MSC * Origin: Silver Bullet - Silver Spring, Md. - 301-622-2247 (1:109/417) ------------------------------ Date: 9 Feb 91 12:19 -0500 From: ALAN CONROY To: CARL HOUSEMAN Subject: RE: RAINBOW CURSOR CONTRO The purpose is to move the blinking box. I can't use escape sequences because I have an input routine which needs to update the cursor position for each character typed at the keyboard (I put the character out with direct video writes). A fast typist (or even myself) can get ahead of the computer in this case. For now, I turn the cursor off and set the video attribute for the "cursor" to reverse-blinking. This works, however the blink is too slow for my liking. Yes, I know that somewhere there has got to be a memory location which contains the cursor address (I had thought at one point I even found out which address), but so far I've been unsuccessful. - --- Opus-CBCS 1.12 * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (1:343/3.0) ------------------------------ End of Rainbow EchoMail Digest ******************************
